Wildlife of Chiddingfold Forest

Nightingales and rare Wood White butterflies

30 British pounds
Chiddingfold Forest

Wildlife Experience

Chiddingfold Forest is a magical place in the spring. Migrant songsters such as Blackcaps and Garden Warblers are joined by the ultimate songbird, the Nightingale, to form a beautiful chorus. Nightingales sing from deep in the tangles but with patience they can be seen. Other possibilities are the fast declining Turtle Dove and maybe a Honey Buzzard. Chiddingfold's rides are amazing places for woodland butterflies and this is the Surrey stronghold of the rare and ephemeral Wood White. We will visit Oaken Wood where we should see other spring species such as Grizzled and Dingy Skipper and we may be lucky enough to catch up with a rare and stunning day flying moth, the Broad-bordered Bee Hawk-moth. Please note that accompanied kids can come for free. Meet at Botany Bay, High Street Green, GU8 4YA nr Chiddingfold
