Surrey is a surprising county. Being so close to the vast conurbation of London, you wouldn't expect Surrey to be England's most wooded county. But it is, and some of this woodland is very ancient indeed. The county is also of international importance for its extensive lowland heath and for the stunning chalk grasslands of the north downs. These are rich habitats and are home to many species of rare and declining birds, plants, insects and other animals. We specialise in small group guided days and short breaks to show you the very best of Surrey's natural history.
